Portable appliance testing (PAT testing) is recommended once a year to ensure electrical appliances are safe and fit for purpose.

Furniture And Furnishings

(Fire) (safety) Amendment Regulation 2010. Any upholstered furniture and soft furnishings must comply to current regulations including bed frames, mattresses, sofa beds, headboards, pillows, cushions, seat pads and even garden furniture that may be used indoors. Items manufactured prior to 1950 are exempt but anything thereafter should have compliance labels attached to these items.
